Clinical Assessments and Diagnoses
It can be incredibly helpful to step back and develop a structured understanding of your mental health. At Chista Psychological Services, we offer clinical assessment and diagnostic clarification based on the criteria set out in the DSM-5-TR (Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders, 5th edition, Text Revision) and best-practice clinical formulation.
Letters and reports are not routinely included in a standard psychology consult and will incur additional fees. The cost is $200.00 AUD per page for a 2- to 3-page letter, which includes a summary of your symptoms, a case formulation, and recommended treatment options. Please be advised that to prepare an accurate support letter or report, we require a minimum of four standard sessions.
We provide assessment for:
- Anxiety disorders (GAD, panic, social anxiety, OCD, etc.)
- Depressive disorders (major depression, dysthymia)
- Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD)
- Adjustment difficulties
- Personality vulnerabilities or longstanding emotional patterns
Clinical Assessments and Diagnoses at Chista Psychology:
- A comprehensive psychological interview exploring symptoms, history, functioning, and stressors
- Structured screening questionnaires or symptom measures (when appropriate)
- Development of a working diagnosis and a shared psychological formulation
- Provision of feedback, treatment planning, and referral options if needed
