Fees and Rebates
For a standard 50 minute session, our fee is $200.00 AUD. Under the Medicare Better Access program, Medicare card holders with a MHCP are entitled to a rebate of part of the fee for up to 10 sessions per calendar year. This means that clients will pay $200 upfront and can then claim $145.25 back from Medicare, resulting in just a small out-of-pocket gap fee of $54.75 to cover the full cost of your session.
Medicare Eligibility:
- Must have a valid MHCP and referral letter
- Up to 10 individual sessions per calendar year (initial 6, followed by 4 after review)
Important Notes:
- Rebates are set by Medicare, not by the psychologist
- You are responsible for obtaining and renewing your MHCP
Your GP Referral Must Include:
- The date on which the referral was issued
- Your full name, date of birth, address, and Medicare details (ensuring all information is listed exactly as registered with Medicare)
- Presenting problem and diagnosis
- List of medications and relevant medical history
- GP’s provider number
